Shine Your Light, a UK and Ireland grassroots movement, is one of the largest Christmas outreaches on behalf of the UK Church. In 2024 over 112,000 Christians from over 1500 churches took their carol services and nativity events into shopping centres, town halls, high streets and public spaces.

This year (2025) the vision is to mobilise over 100,000 Christians outdoors to reach 2 million people in the streets, offices, workplaces and public places with the Gospel. Here are just a few of the things that churches in Harrogate are doing as part of this:

Saturday 6th Dec

3pm & 4pm, Shopper Carols during Christmas market, at St Peter’s

Thursday 11th Dec

5-6pm, Carol Service at Wesley Chapel Steps (coffee shop visit afterwards)

Saturday 13th Dec

10am, Cakes and invitations on Oxford Street, with Harrogate Baptist Church.

1-2pm, Carol Service outside Clark’s in town centre, with Life Destiny Church, Faith Life Centre Harrogate and others. 

3pm & 4pm, Shopper Carols during Christmas market, at St Peter’s

Sunday 14th Dec

3pm, Forest Carols in the Pinewoods Recreation Grounds, with Kairos Network Church.

Saturday 20th Dec

10:30am, Carols on the Stray opposite Weston’s, with Trinity Methodist Church

Friday 19th Dec

6pm, Carols Around The Tree, Spofforth Millennium Gardens.

Monday 22nd Dec

6pm, Carol Service starting Farnham Green then moving inside the church.
