Unity without Uniformity

unity without uniformity
The power of friendship in a divided world

For decades, Church Leaders across Harrogate, from many denominations and traditions, have chosen relationship over rivalry. They have invested time in praying together, sharing meals, and working together on mission, even if their theology or worship styles may differ.

Their unity is not built on uniformity, but on friendship. They listen deeply, disagree graciously, and hold space for one another’s convictions. When one celebrates, the others cheer. When one suffers, the others support.

At a time when culture teaches us prefer black and white, to choose one side or another, to cancel those who think differently to us, these leaders model what it means to tear down the dividing walls of hostility, to prefer others to oneself, to live together in peace and unity.

The story of church unity in Harrogate started decades ago, and over the coming weeks we will listen to people tell us more about how it all began…
